After the start-up of the Teverola 1 site, there is great expectation in the Caserta plant of the Faam brand (FIB S.p.A.) for the Mise decree, which will activate the 500 million euro non-repayable grant, to start Teverola 2.

The production site is the former Whirlpool plant located between the municipalities of Carinaro and Teverola, where lithium-ion batteries are already produced for the industrial, public transport, naval, storage (domestic and utilities) and military sectors. The funding, authorised by the European Union as early as 2019, will allow the project to begin, which from 2024 will take the annual production of the plant (already active and performing) from the current 330 MWh per year to 8.5 GWh per year, making the Teverola plant the first Gigafactory in southern Europe. In this way, Europe wanted to aim for autonomy in the production of cells that are still imported from Asia.
