FAAM took part in the DRC Conference on Battery Direct Recycling, held in Würzburg, a valuable occasion for discussion and exchange on advanced recycling approaches and circular strategies for battery technologies.
During the conference, Carmen Cavallo, Senior Research Scientist leading Recycling activities in the R&D at FAAM, contributed to the dialogue alongside researchers, industry experts and technology developers, sharing perspectives on direct recycling and advanced characterization in the context of sustainable battery systems.
The event also offered the opportunity to highlight the contribution of FAAM’s R&D team, with the presence of Mark Copley, Head of R&D at FAAM, and Annamelia Oglio, Research Scientist in the R&D team, as well as colleagues involved in the RENOVATE EU project.
It was also a moment to reconnect with former Chalmers University researchers, including Patrik Johansson, reflecting the strength of long-standing scientific networks.
A stimulating environment that confirmed the importance of collaboration between research and industry to accelerate innovation and strengthen circular battery value chains at European level, in line with the vision promoted by initiatives such as BATTERY 2030+ and the broader European research ecosystem.
Thank you to the organizers and to Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC for hosting an inspiring and well-curated event.
